Department of History at Govt. Degree College, Chinyalisaur was established in 2001. Presently, it offers only B. A. program with CBCS system in which a student can take History as one of the core subjects in all the six semesters. Study of History is important because it allows us to understand our past on which our present is based. History provides insight into one’s rich culture and heritage and to learn from our past follies. It also helps us to understand the changes that occurred time to time in the society. The aim of this programme was to introduce scientific archaeology at Post-Graduate level, and also to encourage the students of science stream to opt archaeology at PG level.
